Winkwater is one property — the Big House and the Thatch House joined by a central lapa, plus a separate outside room — on a small private nature reserve. We host one party at a time, so when you book, the dam, the waterfall, and the houses are entirely yours.
The Farm House
The whole of Winkwater, yours alone — two houses joined by a central lapa, plus a separate outside room, sleeping up to eighteen.
The Farm House isn't a room — it's the whole property. The Big House and the Thatch House are joined by a central lapa with a fireplace, a long table that seats twelve, and a bar — that's where most of the cooking, eating, and late-evening conversation happens. The Outside Room sits on its own, quieter and a little apart, ideal for a couple in a larger group. The whole property is on a small game-fenced reserve with a dam, a waterfall, and a great deal of sky. Bookings are for the whole property: one party at a time, up to eighteen people. The base rate covers up to eight adults; additional adults are billed per night. Linen and blankets are provided.

The houses
Two houses, a central lapa, an outside room.
The Big House and Thatch House are joined by a shared lapa — that's where most of the cooking, eating, and late-evening conversation happens. The Outside Room sits on its own, quieter and a little apart. All three are yours when you book — split your party however suits you.

The main homestead. Private double bedroom, a loft with six singles, two divans in the living area, fireplace, kitchen, big living space, and a bathroom.

Thatch House
One upstairs room with a double and two single beds, plus two singles in an open downstairs area. Kitchen, bathroom with shower, and a separate toilet.
03Sleeps 2
Outside Room
A private double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and bathtub. Quiet, separate, ideal for grandparents or a couple in a larger group.
